1. Who we are

The Ontario Hazardous Materials Responders Association (OHMRA) is a Canadian nonprofit professional association serving hazmat, CBRNE, and emergency responders. This policy explains how we handle any information connected to your use of ohmra.ca.

2. What we collect on this site

Short answer: almost nothing.

We do not run signup forms, newsletter forms, or payment forms directly on ohmra.ca. Our website is informational.

The exceptions:

  • If you email us at info@ohmra.ca we keep your message so we can respond.

  • Our site is built on Squarespace, which collects basic traffic analytics (page views, device type, approximate region). We don't tie this data to individuals.

3. What Zeffy collects

Membership signups, event registration, and donations are processed by Zeffy, a Canadian ticketing and nonprofit payments platform. When you register through a Zeffy link on this site, your information is submitted to Zeffy and shared with OHMRA so we can serve you as a member or attendee.

Zeffy's handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policy at zeffy.com/en-CA/privacy-policy. We encourage you to read it.

4. Analytics & cookies

Squarespace sets basic cookies to run the site and to measure traffic in aggregate. If we embed third-party content on a page (for example a YouTube video or a Google Map), those services may set their own cookies when you view that page. We do not run advertising pixels on ohmra.ca.

5. Email & CASL

We only email people who have opted in — current OHMRA members, past Summit registrants, and anyone who has specifically asked to receive updates. Every email identifies OHMRA as the sender and includes an unsubscribe link, as required by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

6. Your rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. For data held by Zeffy, you'll want to contact them directly as well. Email us at info@ohmra.ca and we'll respond within 30 days.
